There is a lot of accommodation in Paihia of every
description. Virtually all of it can be found on the internet.
If a bit of luxury is required then the Copthorne is within
crawling distance literally. We (the club)actually share the
grounds with them. About $200 to $250 per night.
There are heaps of Backpackers - rates are around $20 per
night. There is a huge Backpackers community in Paihia with some
of the bars etc catering to them - lots of loud music and drinking
etc etc
The YHA Hostel is called Lodge 11 and unfortunately my
client has just sold this to the YHA Association. It is a very
clean and purpose built hostel.
There is a small backpackers called Mayfair Lodge that is
within walking distance to the Club, but apart from that I don't know
much about it.
My personal pick would be "The Mousetrap". It is a
converted house, owned and operated by a neat young couple named Jake
and Nicki. Again very clean and with great ambiance. It
also has a bunk room that can sleep 9 that some of the lads might be
keen on.
There are also lots of Motels
I also expect that we can arrange billets.
The main thing
is that Paihia is a tourist destination that will probably be 100%
booked out at Easter so bookings need to be made real soon!!
A Useful Web Link See the New Zealand Tourism Board, PureNZ Website for details. On this page, click the Accomodation category on the left side of the page, and search for Paihia. There are also great links here to other Northland and Piahia web sites. Map The Yacht Club is located in Waitangi, over the bridge from Paihia, its location is very near the Waitangi Wharf.
