Sanders Cup
2000 - Notice of Race
The 2000 Sanders Memorial
Cup Contest will be held at Port Chalmers on 27th January to
31st January 2000.
ORGANISING AUTHORITY: Port Chalmers Yacht Club Inc.
HOSTED BY: Port Chalmers Yacht Club Inc in association with the
New Zealand Javelin Owners Association.
1. Rules
The regatta will be governed by The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS)
1997-2001, the prescriptions of Yachting New Zealand, the rules
of the Javelin class, The Sanders Cup Association Rules and this
Notice of Race (except as any of these are changed by the sailing
instructions). The regatta is designated Category B.
2. Eligibility
and Entry
2.1: Competitor eligibility requirements are that either the
skipper or crew must be resident in the current Ranfurly Shield
Rugby Union areas of representation and both mustbe financial
members of a club affiliated to Yachting New Zealand.
2.2: The regatta is open to all boats of the Javelin class with
a current registration certificate, one per representative district
and may be subject to measurement.
2.3: Advance entries will be accepted until the normal closing
date of 10th January 2000, using the attached entry form accompanied
by a fee of $50.00 and mailing it to:

2.4:Late entries, accompanied by a late entry fee of $30 will
be accepted, at the Race Committee's discretion, until 1000 hrs
27th January 2000.
3. Schedule

3.1: Registration and Measurement
Thursday 27th January from 0930 hrs to 1500 hrs at Port Chalmers
Yacht Club, Back Beach, Port Chalmers.

4.Sailing
Instructions
The sailing instructions will be issued to each entrant on completion
of their registration at Port Chalmers Yacht Club.
5. Racing
Area
The races will be held in the vicinity of the Port Chalmers Yacht
Club on Otago Harbour.
6. Courses
to be Sailed
The courses will be Triangular and/or Windward-Leeward types
optionally.
7. Scoring
7.1:The Bonus-Points Scoring
System, Appendix A2 of the Racing Rules, will apply
7.2: There will be 7 races scheduled of which 5 shall be completed
to constitute a series.
8. Alternative
Penalties
The 720 degress turns penalty alternative as for RRS 44 will
apply.
9. Prizes
The following prizes will be awarded:
The winner of this contest will be presented with the Sanders
Memorial Cup.
The winner of the Kingham Trophy Invitation Race will be presented
with the Kingham Trophy. |
