The Bet
Well, it wouldn't be a real Javelin project without a bet, or some alcohol to drink of some sort.
In this case, Leisa Hey, wife
of current NZ Javelin champion Hamish Hey has decided that we
can't build 2 Javelins before September. To ensure we have some
sort of commitment to proceed, she has waged 2 x 750ml bottles
of Coruba Rum (I would have prefered Mount Gay) against a bottle
of Southern Comfort should we sleep all winter and fail to meet
the deadline.This has definitely made the project run smoother, not only is a goal in sight, but we have something to "launch" the boats with as well.
